About Mark Vecchio
Mark Vecchio has coached hundreds of people since 1994. He is credentialed by the International Coach Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), as well as by the ADD Coach Academy as an ADDCA Associate Certified Coach (AACC). Mark is also a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP).
Mark was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, so he understands the symptoms from the inside and knows what it takes to cope with them successfully. His approach is to help clients create their own freedom through emotional and intellectual growth and self-directed engagement.
For most of a twenty-year career as a college professor, he was Faculty in Interdivisional Studies at Bard College at Simon’s Rock, where he coached and advised students, and for three years was the Director of the Tutoring and Writing Center. As an educator his goal was to empower those he worked with to think with more awareness and creativity, and to direct their own actions more consciously. In 2011 he started his private practice to work in these ways in more depth with people individually.
Mark has led pilgrimages to ancient sites such as Stonehenge and Delphi, developed a college curriculum in mythology, worked as a systems analyst, managed a Sylvan Learning Center, taught the college-to-career course at UMass Amherst, and won prizes for stage directing, filmmaking, and poetry. He practiced Aikido for years, and has recently become a lover of Kripalu Yoga. Mark holds International Tutor Program Certification from the College Reading & Learning Association. He earned his M.F.A. in Poetry at Brooklyn College, as well as a D.Univ. in Classics at the University of Kent at Canterbury.
